Milking Cows for Shavuos

Moldova’s Chief Rabbi Zalman Abelsky sent a crew of Mashgichim to Kosher-certify a large quantity of milk at a local dairy farm so there should be ample supply for the Shavuos holiday.

To fill the high demand for dairy foods over the Shavuos holiday in Moldova’s capital of Kishinev, the country’s Chief Rabbi Zalman Abelsky sent a crew of Mashgichim to certify a large Kosher-quantity of milk at a local dairy farm.

R’ Abelsky Blesses Rebbe and Chassidim

While visiting their ancestral home in Romania and Moldova, the Skuliner Rebbe was warmly welcomed by the Chabad rabbi in Moldova, who is also his personal childhood friend.

The Skuliner Rebbe, accompanied by a sizable delegation, comprised mainly of sons and grandsons, visited the holy sites of the Chassidic dynasty in Moldova and Romania.

The Skulen Chasidic dynasty was founded by Rabbi Eliezer Zusia Portugal. It is now headed by his son, the current Rebbe, Rabbi Yisroel Avrohom Portugal.

Heroism, Power, and Tears at the Lag Baomer Parade in Moldova

At a giant parade in Kishinev, capital of Moldova, there were large, impressive floats. The parade was led by a mitzvah tank. The program included a Tzivos Hashem march and rally, and a “happening” for Lag B’Omer. Shliach Rabbi Zalman Abelsky, Chief Rabbi of Moldova, spoke about the significance of the day. IDF memorial day in Kishinev

A memorial event for those who fell in Israel’s wars and were the victims of terror took place in Kishinev. Among those present were Jewish Agency representative Paula La Chaim, Israel’s consul in Moldova Stav Nizhensky, and shliach Rabbi Zalman Abelsky, Chief Rabbi of Moldova. At this event, special prayers were recited for the Ultimate Redemption and the ingathering of the exiles of Israel, and Kaddish and Tehillim were said in memory of the fallen.

Pesach 5771 / 2011 in Moldova

This year, hundreds of people celebrated the Seder night with Chabad in Moldova, while on Pesach itself, services at the Great Synagogue on Chabad Street in Kishinev were well attended by older and younger worshippers.
