11 Nissan in Kishinev

The Chabad Synagogue on Chabad Street in Kishinev, the capital of Moldova, was filled with congregants and Mekurovim celebrating the Rebbe’s birthday. The Farbrengen was lead by the tireless Shliach Rabbi Zalman Abelsky, who inspired them to increase in Torah and Mitzvos in honor of the Rebbe ● The next morning many of them returned to put on Tefillin on this auspicious day.

Purim 5772 / 2012 in Moldova

This year, Purim was a very joyous occasion for the Jews of Moldova. Activities were run in the capital city, Kishinev, and also among the many Israeli students currently in Moldova.

Ilya Reznik A”h

Ilya Reznik, is an accomplished writer, journalist, museum manager and city guide. Born and raised in Kishinev, he was very proud to be Jewish and appreciated Jewish traditions. Passover was one of his favorite holidays and actually he was born on Pesach as well. The Passover poem symbolizes his love and appreciation for this holiday.

My Father a”h wished to be remembered by the photo of him and his parents,Menashe and Khaya Reznik. . They were all born and raised in Kishinev. His Father is buried in Kishinev on Doina Cemetery and my Father and his Mother are both buried in San Diego. My Grandmother, his Mother, passed away 8 months before my Father. When my Father passed away, the cemetery was able to bury him along his Mother and they even have a double monument for both of them. My Father’s legacy continues to live by his children and grandchildren. He will be forever in our hearts. May the soul, Yehuda ben Menashe a”h, have eternal rest and may his memory be blessing for everyone.

International Holocaust Day Observed in Kishinev

In Kishinev, capital of Moldova, a ceremony was held in honor of International Holocaust Day. Present were members of the Jewish community in Kishinev, as well as Jewish community leaders in Moldova, party leaders, diplomats, and schoolchildren.

Yud and Yud Aleph Shevat Farbrengens Held in Kishinev

In Kishinev, various celebrations were held in honor of Yud and Yud Aleph Shevat, the anniversaries of the passing of the previous Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Schneerson, and the beginning of the leadership of the present Lubavitcher Rebbe.
