On the first night of Chanukah, we lit the very first candle at the Central Synagogue of Kishinev (Chabad‑Lubavitch), opening the festival with a truly meaningful and moving evening. In light of the tragic events in Sydney, many more people than usual joined us — families, young and old alike — feeling a deep need to come together, find strength, and draw comfort from the light of Chanukah.
The evening featured delicious festive treats, a lively and joyful children’s program, and an atmosphere filled with warmth, connection, and genuine togetherness.
In these challenging times, the light of Chanukah reminded us that when we gather and kindle light together, it grows stronger and shines even further.
Thank you to everyone who came, participated, and helped create an evening of meaning, unity, and hope.
