On the mission of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, yeshiva students set out to bring the light of Chanukah to every community across Moldova.
Shaye Katz, Levi Saban, and Shneor David embarked on a journey through small, quiet towns and distant Jewish communities, where sometimes just arriving is a celebration in itself.
They went door to door, heart to heart, lighting menorahs, singing songs, listening, hugging, and sharing the Rebbe’s message with every community they encountered.
Hundreds of food packages were distributed, dozens of Chanukah parties were held, sufganiyot (doughnuts) were shared, and hundreds of Jews donned tefillin — some for the first time in many years. Mezuzahs were affixed in dozens of homes, ensuring that the light of Chanukah would remain long after the journey continued.
