Rabbi Zalman Abelsky, Chief Rabbi of Kishinev and Moldova, meets Mr. Avraham Sharon, Israeli Ambassador at Large.
Rabbi Abelsky, who is also the Chairman of the Federation of Lubavitcher Communities, met with Mr. Sharon to discuss Jewish life, and the development of Jewish culture and traditions in Moldova.
Among those who were present were Mr. Shahor Arieli, the deputy of Israel Ambassador in the Ukraine, and Mr. Stav Nijinsky, the First Secretary of Israel Embassy in the Republic of Moldova and the Ukraine. The atmosphere was congenial and the conversation had fruitful results.

A Month of Cooperation.
Also in September, Rabbi Abelsky met with Mrs. Shira Genish, Regional Director of American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) and Mickey Katsif, director of the Kishinev chapter of the JDC. Both parties discussed their continued collaboration and other ideas in common, and came away from the meeting with positive feelings.
