Local Kosher Slaughter: Strengthening Community and Tradition

Local Kosher Slaughter: Strengthening Community and Tradition
Today, as we gathered for our local poultry slaughter, I was struck by the deep sense of satisfaction it brings. It’s like the pride felt at a child’s Bar Mitzvah—personal yet shared among us all.
The Russia-Ukraine conflict has disrupted daily life in many ways, even making it hard to find kosher meat. In response, we’ve risen to the challenge by organizing our own local slaughter.
Celebrating one year of this effort fills me with gratitude. It’s not just about convenience; it’s about reconnecting with our traditions and strengthening our community bonds.
Our work isn’t just about saving money. It’s an investment in our spiritual health and shared identity. Knowing we have kosher meat available brings us peace of mind.
As we get ready for Passover, let’s take a moment to acknowledge this milestone. Our hands-on approach ensures that all Jews in Moldova can celebrate the holiday joyfully and in accordance with tradition. We’re hosting 5 communal seders across Moldova and preparing to give out hundreds of food packages to those in need. Your donation can help us reach even more people.
