The Moldovan Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu had a meeting at the MFAEI with Dr. Sam Kliger, Director for Russia and Eurasia with the American Jewish Committee.
They discussed how the organization can play an active role in facilitating dialogue between Moldova and the U.S. and Israel. They both emphasized the importance of close cooperation in promoting democratic values and human rights, as well as combating anti-Semitism and promoting a culture of remembrance and tolerance in Moldova.
They also discussed issues such as government interaction with Jewish communities, including the 120th anniversary of the Kishinev pogrom. The Minister confirmed the commitment of the Moldovan government to honor the memory of the victims and to promote and protect Jewish Heritage in our country.
