Loss of a loved one…deteriorating health…devastating blindness…homelessness…but alas one blessing, and happiness is rest

It was 3 years ago, when Nina Birenboim 59 from Beltsy lost her vision. Nina is a widow living with her only daughter Livina. Livina is now 16 years old. Nira had suffered a tremendous amount from the loss of her husband. Ever since the tragedy Nina got ill. Her health became weaker as the days progressed; she ultimately lost her vision. Calamity hit after Nira was approached by people that convinced her to sign documents that gave up her possession of her own home. She had no idea of what she was signing because she was blind. A while later she was abandoned from her house, with no where to go. Nina and Livina spent the few years sleeping in shelters, on park benches and in any public place that would offer her a night or a few hours of sleep.

It’s been almost a year that Nina met Rebetzin Leah Abelsky and the Synagogue in Kishinev . Kishinev is approximately a four (4) hour ride from Bletsy. Nina’s foot travels lead her to the home that would ultimately save her life.

Nina and Livina had a warm bed to sleep on and hot food to eat to nourish their tired and hungry bodies. But, Rebetzin Leah Abelsky did much more. She took it upon herself to find doctors who would restore Nina’s eyesight and health. Rebbetzin Abelsky immediately enrolled Livina to become a student of the girls Machon.

Nina had developed an unusual allergy which caused her to be weak. The doctors were afraid to operate Nina, claiming that her body would not be able to hold the stress.

Despite their worries and with the blessing of Rabbi Zalman Ablesky [Rabbi Zalman Abelsky, Chief Rabbi of Kishineve and Moldova , was given the power by the Chabad ‘Rebbe ‘ to provide blessings to others. People from around the world call to receive blessings. The Doctors successfully operated Nina’s right eye and her vision came back to her. Nina is week and doctors would like her to rest before the operating the left eye.

Today, Nina is resting comfortably, basking in the beauty of being able to see the sun rise, the beautiful flowers, but most importantly, her beautiful, only daughter. She must regain some strength in order to endure the operation necessary to restore eyesight in her other eye. Life keeps on looking better for Nina.

Our next challenge is to return Nina her house says Rachamim Belenkly. We got legal help to assist Nina hopefully she will be able to be back in her home.
