Why Education?

With the fall of Communism, Moldova became the very first point within the Soviet Union to which the Rebbe sent a shliach from abroad – Rabbi Zalman Abelsky z”l. Since then, Chabad has been the beating heart of Jewish life in Moldova.

Today, around 5,000 Jews live in Moldova – 5,000 precious souls, each one a world of its own. Our mission is clear: to ensure that every child, every teenager, and every family stays connected to their Judaism with confidence and joy.

Education is the foundation of Jewish continuity.
It is about identity, belonging, and pride.

What We Do Today

  • Jewish Nursery – nurturing 15 children aged 2–5 with love, Jewish values, and healthy nutrition.
  • Sunday School – 20 children experiencing Jewish learning and activities that build identity and pride.
  • Supplementary Afternoon School – for 12 children who attend state schools in the morning. With us, they receive Jewish learning, academic support, and two hot meals daily. Ages 7–14.
  • 40+ campers join each year, often their first immersive Jewish experience. For two weeks they live and breathe Judaism with Israeli counselors, joyful activities, and lasting friendships. Over 80% continue into our year-round programs.
  • CTeen– 15 teenagers in our dedicated lounge and mentoring programs find meaning, belonging, and responsibility. Many graduates stay connected and take on leadership roles.
