Tehillim Books Donated to Bendersky Gan Israel Camp and the Chabad Synagogue in Kishinev in Memory of Sgt. Yuval Ben-Yaakov
In loving memory of IDF Sergeant Yuval Ben-Yaakov, hy”d, his parents have donated Tehillim (Psalms) books to the Bendersky Gan Israel Camp in Kishinev and to the Central Chabad Synagogue in Kishinev.
The gift, made with the help of Dr Arthur Shaikovsky, will give children and shul members a personal Tehillim to pray from and keep — a long-standing tradition in Jewish life.
The Tehillim books bear Yuval’s name. He gave his life defending Israel and fell Al Kiddush Hashem, leaving behind a legacy of courage and faith that will live on in the hearts of the community.
Yuval was born in Jerusalem and spent his early years in Balti, Moldova, before moving with his family to Kfar Menahem in southern Israel. In 2021 he joined the Armoured Corps, serving in the 77th Battalion.
On Simchat Torah, 7 October 2023, while at the Yiftach outpost near Gaza, Yuval faced an attack. With only one magazine (ammunition clip), he fought to protect his friends and stopped the terrorists from entering. He was killed in the battle — and in doing so, saved the entire outpost.
May his soul be bound in the bond of life.
