Shanah Tovah Umetukah

Dear Friends

As we are approaching a new year, I would like to wish you and your family with a happy and healthy New Year, filled with only joy and sweetness.

I would like share with you as well about an incredible and packed summer we had in Moldova.

  • The summer took off with a concert, starring singer Mordechai Brodsky from Israel. People from all over Moldova participated in this concert. His music and beautiful words gave people special feelings to Judaism.
  • We ran an amazing summer camp for the children of Kishinev. The children learned how Tefillin is made, baked challah and participated in many fun activities.
  • Gena (Mordechai) and Gabriel both celebrated their Bar Mitzvah this summer. They prepared for the meaningful day with the guidance of Rabbi Mendy Gotsel.

During the coming weeks, Jews around the world will prepare to celebrate the New Year with prayer and feasting. And as we pray for a “sweet New Year,” many of our Jewish brethren are praying for a meal and a warm bed. It’s hard to believe, but for many Jews something as basic as a wholesome kosher meal, or a pair of shoes is what makes the New Year truly sweet!

Friends of Kishinev Jewry is committed to providing a truly “Sweet New Year” to the Jewish communities in Moldova. We make critical humanitarian aid available to many of in the form of warm clothing, access to medicine and a nutrition program that sets annually, thousands of healthy meals to the poor, needy and elderly.

We aim to see even more growth and expansion over the upcoming new year. You can help make this possible with your continued support.

Please make a tax-deductible gift to Friend of Kishinev Jewry and help the Jews of Kishinev and Moldova to enjoy a true meaning of the high holidays.

In the merit of your kindness, may you enjoy good health and happiness this year and always.
