President Vadim Krasnoselsky to meet representatives of religious faiths of the Republic of Moldova

On Monday, October 28, President Vadim Krasnoselsky initiated a meeting of representatives of all religious faiths of the Republic of Moldova.

The Jewish community was represented by the Chief Rabbi of Moldova and Chisinau, Rabbi Yosef Abelsky, and Rabbi Shmuel Zalmanov.

In a conversation with the President, they discussed the restoration and repair of Transnistria’s synagogues, tidying up Jewish cemeteries, as well as the activities of Chabad in Tiraspol, Bender, Rybnitsa and other places of the PMR (Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic), which makes it possible Jews live according to the ways of Judaism, in accordance with its laws and traditions.

Mr. President concluded the meeting by declaring, “And Glory to G-d that the differences in our beliefs do not prevent us from sitting together and discussing common problems!”
