Jewish community Chabad Lubavitch Moldova

A heartfelt letter of support from the esteemed Skulener Rebbe of Lakewood, New Jersey. Please see the translated message below, conveying his deep sentiments.

Dear friends,

Acheinu Beis Yisroel,

Hashem Aleihem Yichyu,

I come with these words to appeal to you about a sublime and immensely important matter – the mitzvah of building a mikvah of purity, one of the central foundations in the sanctity and purity of the Am Yisroel for its generations.

In Moldova, under the devoted leadership of the emissary, Rabbi Zushe Abelsky shlita, son of the learned and holy Rabbi Zalman Tuvia HaKohen Abelsky zt”l, who was sent there on his sacred mission by the Lubavitcher Rebbe and served as the rabbi of Moldova for decades, Chabad works tirelessly to spread the light of Torah and mitzvot among every Jew wherever they are. The time has now come to build a magnificent and special mikvah for the women of Israel, which will enable them to properly fulfill the mitzvah of purity, joyfully according to the strict requirements of halacha.

Our sages taught us that the mikvah of purity is one of the foundations that the people of Israel have sacrificed for, and as ruled in the Shulchan Aruch (Orach Chaim, Section 154, Subsection 13), it is permissible to sell a synagogue for the purpose of the mitzvah of purity. Therefore, building a mikvah in Moldova is not only a great mitzvah but also an urgent necessity that will bring plenty and blessing to the entire people of Israel in every place.

And all those who partake in this mitzvah will merit all blessings and recoveries, in this world and the world to come, especially to see generations that are upright, good, and well-adjusted, holy and pure, engaged in Torah and mitzvot.

We call upon every Jew who loves mitzvot to participate in this holy project generously, and to be partners in the purity of Am Yisroel, and surely by the merit of this mitzvah we will all merit to see the complete redemption very soon. As it is written: “I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean.”

Wishing you success and blessing,

A good inscription and sealing to him and his household,
