MK GOROLOVSKY VISITS CHABAD IN KISHINEV

This week MK Michael Gorolovsky (Likud), who was born in Kishinev, Moldova, was the honored guest of the local Chabad community.

100 YEARS SINCE THE KISHINEV POGROM

On 9th Nissan, 5663 [1903], over fifty Jews were murdered, Shuls were looted, and sifrei Torah were desecrated in the Moldovan capital, Kishinev. It took the Jews of Kishinev many years to get over the after-effects of this terrible pogrom.

I found out one fall morning that I would be traveling to Kishinev, Moldova to visit eleven children’s hospitals. I was participating in a program called “Gift of Hope” with a local humanitarian aid organization.

It’s almost ten years since I left my hometown of Kishinev, the capital of the Moldovian Republic in the former Soviet Union. I grew up in a family, which like most other Jewish families in Moldova.
