At the end of September, a wonderful “Afrashat Hala” event took place in honor of the yorzeit of the mother of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Chana Schneerson.
There were many Jewish women who enjoyed a delicious meal and then participated in the important mitzvah of separating the challah. Each woman kneaded the dough for 2 large challahs and took them home to bake. Some were baked in the synagogue, and they took their fresh, delicious challah to the Shabbat table.
The women talked, laughed, wished each other a good year and health to their children and loved ones, and during the separation of a piece of challah there was a very touching moment for everyone – turning to God with their requests, with their gratitude, with their experiences and hopes.
