The Jewish community “Chabad in Moldova” hosts guests traveling to Uman every year. Last year it was especially important to help every Jew stopping in Kishinev.
This year, about 30,000 Jews traveled through Moldova on their way to Ukraine. The Chabad Central Synagogue had been preparing for the meeting for several months; all the employees and shaliachs of the Lubavitcher Rebbe were waiting for the guests with great excitement. Immediately upon arrival at the airport, we met every Jew and helped answre any questions they had. Every guest in our synagogue was treated to delicious kosher food, a warm mikveh, prayer in a minyan and any other help from us tat they needed. Given how many guests we had, and since it was on the eve of the holidays, we made a shechita (kosher slaughter) of chicken in order to feed all the guests and the entire community.
The Jewish community worked especially hard during these days; there were people in the synagogue 24 hours a day, ready to help. For the convenience of guests, we have created a hotline number on WhatsApp, which can also be used for consultation.
