On the day of their departure, a special farewell Farbrengen was held in their honor, led by the Rebbe's Shliach to Moldova, and its Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Zalman Abelsky.

On April 8, the 28th of Nissan a gathering dedicated to the memory of Kishinev Pogrom victims of 1903 was held near the Monument mounted in 2003 on the territory of the former Jewish cemetery.

Chabad of Moldova, under the directorship of Rabbi Zalman Abelsky, held a Model Matza Bakery with the help of some fresh arrived Yeshivah Students.
